An Icon Never Fades…

Fact: Marilyn Monroe declared it the only thing she wore to bed

Fact: Andy Warhol created a permanent place for it in Museum of Modern Art’s collection Unassuming, yet distinct, Chanel No. 5 was originally created for the newly liberated 1920s woman. Its minimalist, yet iconic vessel hasn’t changed since its inception…so iconic that even a mention of the abstract thought of ‘perfume’ subconsciously conjures an image of the No. 5  bottle…

Maestro Karl Lagerfeld brings the eloquence of the bottle to his newest creation:THE Chanel No. 5 Bottle Bag!

While doing a little ‘Wikipedia’ing’ I just discovered that Coco Chanel had a special place in her heart for the number…  she felt as though the number 5 was “signifying the pure embodiment of a thing, its spirit, its mystic meaning.”

Wikipedia:

In 1920, when she was presented with small glass vials of scent numbered 1–5 and 20–24, for her assessment, she chose the sample composition contained in the FIFTH vial. Chanel told her master perfumer, Ernest Beaux, whom she had commissioned to develop a fragrance with modern innovations: “I present my dress collections on the fifth of May, the fifth month of the year and so we will let this sample number five keep the name it has already, it will bring good luck.”

Everyone seeks out that which is iconic, a little piece of historical significance… PurseBop is no different. Come on, admit this clever, yet obvious creation is just too much fun and oozes my kind of whimsy…

So hypothetically, if the Chanel Gods were smiling down on you…and you were to adorn your collection with one, which would you pick?
Black or Transparent? or the Andy Warhol original maybe?

I guess this is what happens to some when they can’t decide…they just GET both, LOL (and no one can pull it off quite like Rihanna…)
