It’s unfortunate that we have nice things and can’t wear them without serious precaution. I hardly use my fine jewelry for this reason. Same with Birkin and Kelly. Unless it’s a well known safe place I feel comfortable.

I stopped posting pix of my bags for that very reason.

I prefer the Kelly for traveling, as it has a shoulder strap. I rarely travel with a Birkin. It’s heavy, and easy to snatch. Otherwise, I love them both.

Non, non, et non! For well over 100 years, Hermes has been famous for their exquisite leathers. Companies are now under pressure to do everything in an eco friendly/animal cruelty free way, but I’d rather do my part by buying in the secondary market. I do not want a bag made of soylent green!

At the price point of Hermes, I don’t think I’d purchase a “mushroom” bag. Stella McCartney bags are lovely, but I don’t understand why they are the same price as a bag that is actually leather. I feel like bags manufactured like this should be at a lower price point.

Why is this illegal? If I brought a bag aren’t I allowed to resell it for any price I wish? I don’t understand if Hermès got paid why is it their business what the buyer does with the purse afterwards?

It is not surprisingly that H has always been fooled by people that can sweet talk or dress up to give them the coveted bags, yet ignoring true followers or make them go thru hoops to get one. This is a slap in their face especially the ‘showroom’ is so close to FSH. While the article labeled the buyers as ‘victims’, it should not be mistaken that anyone willing to pay three times the original price is willing to bypass the hassle of constantly applying online for appointments or to be told ‘no more bags’ even if they are lucky to get one. It is unacceptable that one cannot walk in to ask for a non B or K without an appointment. They are the victims of their own selling approach.

January 2021 Sale Update

Many of our community members have been reaching out for updates regarding the Exceptional Sales in Paris that typically happen in January of each year. We have received official word that access to the sales in Paris will be by invitation only. This allows Hermès to control the flow of their customers in the sales area… “guaranteeing the health of our customers as well as that of our employees remains our top priority” explained the director.

Hermès Paris will work on execution of the sale during the early months of 2021.

UPDATE:
Finally received the customized SO that I placed in early Oct! It only takes them slightly more than 2 weeks to ship out the parcel, which is way faster than the “8 weeks” they mentioned during the order! Besides, I figured out the one with swift leather on the outside actually comes with Chèvre Chagrin leather on the inside! Now I definitely hope to get another one in swift 😆

Love this report. This LV collection is one I have always regretted not buying. I have often considered buying from the secondary market and I type this while wearing my Gap velour tracksuit from 15 years ago that I still wear till this day. So three cheers for velour making a comeback!
