Increasing Chances of Hermes Leather Appointment in Paris

Dear PurseBop,
Is there anything I can do to increase my chances of scoring a leather appointment at one of the Hermes boutiques in Paris? I do not have a profile but am willing to purchase other items in order to be offered a Birkin or Kelly. If I don’t get an appointment through the lottery system, would it be ridiculous to purchase other items from the store and simply ask for an appointment?
