Chanel handbag fans beware: rumors abound that yet another round of Chanel price increases is brewing in the United States. If true, these January 2021 hikes are all the more shocking because Chanel prices rose significantly in the middle of the pandemic.

Read on to see just how high the cost of your favorite Chanel bag may go. And don’t be surprised that Chanel is pricing according to trend… Mini bags are expected to rise more than many others.
In 2020, citing rising costs of raw material and transportation, Chanel hiked prices across popular styles around the world. The increases were in the range of 11-20% for Minis, Classics, WOCs and Reissue styles while price increases for the Gabrielle, Chanel 19 and Boy Bag were under 10%. The Mini Classic Square Flap saw the maximum increase of a whopping 25% (in Europe)!
The brand’s goal of global price harmonization being met, we arrived at the conclusion that it no longer made sense to shop for Chanel in any one particular country over another. Not even France!

Sources report that another Chanel price increase is coming to the United States. The expected date is on or about January 15, 2021.

As can be seen in the tables above, price increases are likely to be in the 3-6% range for the Classics, Boys, Reissues and Chanel 19s. Think about it: $7500 for a jumbo Classic Flap or a Reissue 226! Mini-sized bags continue to be hot and it is reflected in the expected price rise. The price increase for the square and rectangle minis respectively is expected to be around 11% and 5%. And the wallet on chain faceng a whopping 22% rise!!!
With global price harmonization as Chanel’s primary goal, we expect similar price increases worldwide.
