The spate of price increases among our favorite luxury brands is here one way or the other. While news about the tariff on French luxury imports being suspended came in just yesterday (read: Breaking News: US Suspends 1.3 Billion in Tariffs on French Luxury Goods), the annual price increases from Hermès and Louis Vuitton that usually kick in this time of the year, appears to be on schedule.

We have noticed prices of several popular bag styles on the Louis Vuitton USA website go up. Fortunately, we can report that the price increases so far appear to be nominal. This comes a year after an eventful 2020, when Louis Vuitton increased its prices twice within a short span of two months, resulting in a cumulative increase of around 8% across models.

The increase so far appears to be in the usual range of 3-5% across board. Some models like the Capucines, Twist and Speedy have remained unchanged, but we are observing greater than usual price increases for some of the other popular styles.
Case in point – The über trendy multi-pochette is up 10% from last year!
The ever popular multi pochette that was priced at $1,640 this time last year, moved up to sell at $1,860 in May (after both rounds of price increases) and is now retailing at $2050 – a whopping 25% increase in a short span of 12 months!

Considering the eventful 2020 we’ve had, we’re delighted the French luxury tariff didn’t come to fruition.
There has also been an LV price increase in Canada and some European countries.
Now we are seriously contemplating caving in to the Multi Pochette trend before prices go up any further! What luxury purchase is next on the cards for you?
