While Chanel’s new Pre-Fall/Winter 2026 Mini Flag Bag proportions are turning heads, another newcomer deserves just as much attention. The 26B Bucket Bag offers another insight into Matthieu Blazy’s evolving vision for the House, blending a contemporary silhouette with references to some of Chanel’s most enduring design signatures.

Defined by its softly structured shape, the Bucket Bag is crafted from flat-quilted Dark Beige suede calfskin, continuing Matthieu Blazy’s preference for flatter quilting over the pillowy proportions that have dominated recent designer eras. The treatment recalls the more restrained quilting seen on vintage Chanel bags, while contrasting Black calfskin trim reinforces the House’s longstanding affinity for elegant two-tone designs.

Traditional Chanel codes like the leather-enlaced chain strap are replaced by a simpler wide adjustable leather version, while the double CC logo is downsized. Further references appear in the burgundy leather that traces the opening of the bag and lines the underside of the shoulder strap – a subtle nod to the iconic burgundy lining of the Classic Flap. The same rich hue also appears on the zippered pouch housed inside.

Adding a dose of Chanel charm is Beige interlocking CC appliqués at each attachment echo the more subtle logo placements seen throughout the 26B ready-to-wear collection, from the underside of jacket collars to denim waistbands. The design is finished with a drawstring closure, complete with a tiny gold-tone CC charm that allows the open-top silhouette to be cinched securely when needed.

The Bucket Bag is offered in two sizes. The Small measures 9.1 x 9.1 x 5.7 inches and is available in Dark Beige suede calfskin with Black trim, while the larger 11.8 x 12.2 x 7.5-inch version is offered in Black. Retail prices are $6,700 for the Small and $7,600 for the Large.

Sometimes it’s the smallest design details that leave the biggest impression. Do the Bucket Bag’s understated Chanel codes win you over, or would you prefer a bolder take on the House’s signature aesthetic?
