Buyer's Remorse: Did I Make the Right Choice Buying a Birkin 35 or is a Birkin 30 a Better Choice?

Question:

Dear Pursebop, I recently got my first Birkin (Birkin 35, Noir in Togo leather). However, all discussions are how big and heavy the 35 is. I can no longer return the bag. Did I make an expensive mistake, and should I have gotten a Birkin 30?

Dear Second Guessing Your Choice?

First, congratulations on getting your first Birkin! All Birkins are amazing and special.

Second, it is important to block out all the noise you may hear about the pros and cons of each bag size. What is most important is that you were offered an amazing Noir Birkin 35 in the most popular Togo leather. You obviously loved the size, feel and look of the bag or we assume you would not have purchased it.

A larger bag like a B35 obviously holds more things and, therefore, would be heavier than a smaller bag. Whether the Birkin 35 is too big or too heavy is completely a personal choice based on many factors. How much you carry in your bag, how tall and strong you are, whether you use your bag for work or just for special occasions, your preferences in bags, and additional personal choices.

Many people believe the Birkin 35 is the true classic size and they would never consider going smaller. Others prefer smaller bags and tend to carry far less things on a day to day basis.

Since you do not mention your lifestyle, what size bag you are accustomed to using, or your height or body frame size, it is difficult to determine if the B35 is right for you. Only you can make that determination.

At PurseBop we believe there is room in every collection for different size Birkins assuming your budget allows. Our recommendation is to use your new beloved Birkin 35, enjoy its beauty, functionality, and style and decide for yourself if it is the right size for you. A classic B35 in Noir Togo leather never goes out of style. And it sounds divine.
