Question:
How do you pack the luxury bags you take with you on vacation? Do you hand carry all of them or put them in your carry-on luggage?
Dear Luxury Bag Packer:
All luxury handbags and jewelry should only be packed in your carry-on tote in separate dust bags nested inside each other if possible. Any handbags that do not fit inside your carry-on tote should be securely packed in your carry-on luggage making sure there are no heavy items touching your bag(s) that could dent or damage them. Also, make sure there are no liquids that can leak or come in contact with your handbags that may be packed in the same carry-on luggage.
Never let your luxury handbags and jewelry out of your sight by leaving them unattended. And NEVER pack your luxury handbags, jewelry, and other precious items in your checked luggage. We have received numerous reports from community members who packed their luxury handbags, jewelry and other purchases in their checked luggage that was subsequently stolen from their bag during the trip home.
If you are not nesting the handbags within each other, we recommend using an insert or tissue paper to maintain the bag’s shape and structure. Do not pack other items on top of your handbags in your carry-on luggage to avoid damaging the bags. Only take the handbags that will fit comfortably inside your carry-on tote or rolling luggage. If you plan to make luxury purchases while traveling do not overpack and leave room for your purchases in your carry-on luggage.
