This is an interesting question. In the past, accepting an offer of a non quota bag did not affect when or if you were offered a quota bag. However, very recently we are hearing that in some boutiques, this rule has been initiated. We do not know which boutiques have decided to adhere to this practice, or whether it is only in the US or in other countries as well.

We have heard chatter that if you accept a non-quota bag offer it may delay when or if you get offered your next quota bag. For this reason, it is best to ask your SA this question. She will know if accepting the mini Roulis will affect the timing of your next quota bag.

We have also heard accounts from our community members who traveled to Paris and had similar experiences. They explained that they were able to secure a walk-in leather appointment with a SA who offered them a non-quota bag which they accepted. Later that week they received a leather appointment via the online system. Upon arriving for their scheduled leather appointment they were subsequently told that they could not be offered a quota bag at this leather appointment because they had accepted a non-quota bag offer earlier in the week. They were also informed that they must wait 6 months to return to Paris to obtain a leather appointment and request a quota bag.

Again, the possible reason for this change in rules is due to the low inventory and the vastly increased demand for all Hermès bags. The boutiques and SA’s struggle with making all their clients happy due shortages of inventory. They would like to offer everyone with the bag of their dreams. However, this is not always possible. Therefore, a non quota Hermès bag is very special. Receiving one may satisfy a client while they wait for their quota bag to arrive.
