What a difference a month makes… at least when it comes to the Dior bags for Fall 2021! In March, Dior previewed its Fall 2021 collection in Paris. Then on April 12, the Pre-Fall 2021 set showed in Shanghai. Although that may seem backward, Dior Pre-Fall originally presented digitally in December 2020. The Shanghai show brought the collection into real life.
As between the Pre-Fall and Fall collections, certainly, there were similarities and themes. However, where the Paris show was dark, Shanghai was popping sparkles and neon. That includes the bags.
Fall 2021
For Fall 2021, expect to see plenty of the Dior Book Tote, Lady D-Lite and Caro, all of which are actually part of the brand’s fall campaign. As shown in Paris, colors were mostly muted but… there is leopard print! Velvet too. Plus, one large slouchy style with a wide strap.

Pre-Fall 2021
And then, we get to Shanghai. Although the ensembles featured many of the same classic style bags, the fabrications were quite different. The vibe was colorful, bright and sparkly. Literally. Clothing and bags in neon shades – including some similar to PurseBop’s recent neon Chanel. On top of that, just look at the bags covered in sparkles! Moreover, you’ll find virtually a book tote for every ensemble. In other words, although the shapes may be classic, the overall look is not.

Dior showed its spots with more leopard, this time in traditional and non-traditional hues. Additionally, if you want to go full-out animal, there are matching raincoats. Stand out in a neon leopard raincoat! And yes, it is a little reminiscent of Sprouse’s years-old collection for sister company Louis Vuitton. But, truthfully, leopard print never really goes out of style!

On the other hand, if you’re looking for handheld and sleek, Dior has that too. There’s a flat, rectangular clutch – the Dior Double bag (although absent a chain strap). Admittedly very hard to see, this style appeared repeatedly on the Chinese runway.

What’s the upshot of Dior’s Pre-Fall and Fall collections? Fortunately for those whose collections are deep in Book Tote, Lady Di-lite, Saddle and so on, these classics remain in style! Plus, if you’re looking for pizazz – with neon and sparkle – you’re in luck too!
