Building on this vibrant archive, the Maison is turning its attention to the Capucines. Since its debut in 2013, the Capucines has been a blank canvas for endless reinvention. The Artycapucines line, launched in 2019, invited contemporary artists to put their signature spin on the iconic silhouette. Now, Murakami has his turn with a lineup of eleven limited-edition variations. From grinning flowers to pandas, camo, and a sprinkling of Monogram Multicolore, Murakami transforms the Capucines into a pop-art playground – and let’s just say, entry isn’t for the faint of heart.

Artycapucines XXL Camo
Adding a larger-than-life silhouette to the lineup, the Artycapucines XXL Camo appears bigger than the Capucines GM from the core line. Crafted in a soft camo print that seems to be denim, it draws on motifs from Murakami’s 2009, TIME collection. Replacing the traditional Capucines top handle, this design features an adjustable leather strap, giving it a relaxed, slouchy feel. Produced in a limited edition of 155 pieces worldwide, it retails for $18,500.

Artycapucines Capubloom
And then there’s one – even if not a Capucine, yet part of the lineup. The Artycapucines Capubloom takes the silhouette to another dimension. The sculptural form comes from a multicolor acrylic overlay adorned with Murakami flowers, while the soft leather interior features a drawstring closure. The design retains the signature top handle and LV initials, and comes with an adjustable shoulder strap. Limited to 380 pieces worldwide, it retails for $31,000.

Panda Clutch
Rounding out the lineup with a wink of whimsy, the Panda Clutch transforms Murakami’s iconic panda into a sparkling spectacle. Limited to 130 pieces worldwide, it retails for $51,000.

This special-edition collection is accompanying an even more limited exhibit. Louis Vuitton is unveiling the collection in honor of Art Basel Paris 2025, where Murakami has curated an installation at the Balcon d’Honneur at the Grand Palais, running from October 24 to 26. The immersive experience features an eight-meter-high octopus sculpture inspired by Chinese lanterns, with sweeping tentacles enveloping the exhibition space.
For those looking to invest in a piece of LV Murakami art, the Artycapucines collection is set to ship in January 2026.
