Birthdays and bags go hand in hand. After all, what better way to celebrate another year than with a special orange orange box?

That ritual has become something of a tradition for the visionary CEO behind Luxury Promise, Sabrina Sadiq. But this year feels different. This time, it’s not about another investment piece or a seasonal rarity — it marks the beginning of what she calls her collectible era. After 15 years of dreaming and manifesting, she finally welcomed one of Hermès’ most elusive creations into her collection.

And the way it arrived? Let’s just say it felt written in the stars.

The Birthday Bag Reveal - Shadow Era

Sabrina is back.

And there cannot be a birthday without a big bag reveal for my PurseBop community — it’s officially tradition now.

But this year feels different.

As my collection evolves, I’ve realised… we are no longer just in the era of “investment bags.” We are officially in the era of collectibles.

Everyone talks about collectibles in Pokémon cards, watches, vintage cars… but we don’t talk enough about collectible Birkins.

Yes, Birkins and Kellys are investments. But what makes a bag truly beyond investment? It’s rarity, story, and discontinued artistry — qualities that transform a piece into a collector’s dream.

After all, I don’t want just another classic Birkin. I want the Birkin that tells a story. The Birkin that is no longer made. And then there’s the one I’ve had my heart set on for the past fifteen years — a creation born under one of the most daring creative minds Hermès ever had: Jean-Paul Gaultier.

We’ve all seen the impact Jean-Paul Gaultier had at Hermès during his seven-year tenure — from the Shadow Kelly to the Shoulder Birkin and Shoulder Kelly, through the playful Kelly Danse and the Picnic. And yes, there have been revival moments, but they’ve never quite felt the same as the originals.

The iconic Shadow Birkin did make a comeback in 2021, but only in limited quantities and exclusively in a size 25.

And for me? I am a Birkin 35 girl.

I wanted something powerful. Something boardroom-ready. Something I can walk into a meeting with… and place down with presence.

The ultimate Shadow Birkin 35.

And here’s where the story gets truly magical…

A friend of mine had decided to sell her personal bag. She said she’d consign it with us. And as a little joke, she scribbled on the box: “For Sabrina.”

Meanwhile, my husband asked me what I wanted for my birthday.

I told him — just flowers. Because I’m intentional now. I only want the right bag. Not just any bag.

He messages my operations director — “Is there anything Sabrina wants?” The reply came back:
“Well… a bag just arrived. And it literally says ‘For Sabrina’ on it.” And in that moment, he knew — that was the one.

I walked into the office before a big live show. There were flowers. And there was an orange box. And inside?

My dream.

The Shadow Birkin 35. Matte black, architectural, rare, discontinued, and collectible.

It wasn’t just a bag. It was a statement. A culmination of patience, intention, and decades of collecting.

This isn’t just a bag.
