It seems like months since we first spied Chanel’s Fall Winter 2022/23 handbag offerings on the runway. Now those bags are on its website – although still only available for purchase through boutiques and not online. As is evident, Chanel has leaned into hot pink (labelled fuchsia), tweed, and practicality.

Below are some of the new and noteworthy for your collection and fashion vibe.
Consider us in a back-to-school mode, but this patent backpack hits the mark for work and play. Priced at $4700, however, it’s certainly not for the schoolyard.

The hot pink of the Barbiecore trend is in Coco’s house as well. In this case, it’s fabricated with a cashmere tweed, giving a twist to the Classic Flap. But don’t expect a bargain. This bag is actually $100 more than the small leather Classic.
As an aside, Chanel might claim credit for initiating the hot pink trend. We’ll let you all debate that.

Chanel has also taken the hot pink cashmere tweed to alternative flap styles, including a bejeweled mini. The price is $4600.

And, no surprise, a new vanity case hits the trend as well. In this instance, there’s a little twist on the style. Metal lettering features “chanel” on the front of the bag. It retails for $4600, just like the small flap above.

For those who love Chanel’s newest model the Chanel 22, you’re in luck. A number of color options are featured on the website, no doubt with more in store. One newish hue is a light (but not bright) green, leaning into the trend Chanel terms “acid tone.” The good news: no apparent price hike. It’s listed at $5300.

And if it’s Fall Winter and Chanel, of course there must be tweed. Beyond the Barbiecore hot pinks discussed above, more classic fabrications are available as well. Catching our eye are a cute non-classic flap with handle in a red and blue plaid and a bowling bag in more subdued hues. Both list at $4400.

Boy, oh boy, Chanel is sending a message. The Boy style bag remains an essential part of the collection with the reimagined messenger style. More of a hobo shape with rounded edges, this Boy is in winter mode: shown in shearling for $5300.

For those who believe no Chanel ensemble is complete without pearls, this season you’ll have to stalk the evening bags. Standing out are a mini and small flap, each encrusted with the gem (faux of course).
