What Is The Best Way To Ask My Hermès SA For A Special Order Opportunity?

Dear Pursebop:

I have a great relationship with my Hermes SA and have received quota and non-quota bags I really wanted.

I am interested in being considered for an a La Carte (Special Order) in the February 2024 season. How do I best ask to be on her list?

Dear Special Order Hopeful:
A la carte or Special Orders (SO) are offered to customers in the Spring and Fall of each year. We suspect each boutique is allotted a limited number of SO’s that they may offer their customers twice a year.  Because there is a limited number of Special Orders given to each boutique, it’s possible not every SA is permitted to offer their client an opportunity each season. And of course all requests require manager approval. Many factors must align for your SA to be able to offer you the opportunity. We have heard that some boutiques are offering more opportunities to first timers. So if you have never created a SO, this may be your year.

It is a good idea to have a conversation with your SA about your desire to be offered a Special Order one day. We recommend placing it on your wishlist when updating or providing it to your SA. This way they know in written form that you would be interested in placing a Special Order.

Special Orders (SO) are bags that are created by the customer based on the color chart available for that season. There are certain bags and parameters that must be followed. It is a special honor to be offered a SO. We hope your wish comes true in the near future.
