With Memorial day weekend behind us, we’ve officially entered into unofficial days of summer 2018! Thank goodness! Many of us have been waiting for sunshine and warm weather . . and it’s got to be near even if not quite consistently here yet.
Pour the rosé all day, apply and reapply the sunscreen and bring out all the whites: tennis dresses and kicks for sure, crocheted bikinis (if that’s your thing), jeans, sandals and, of course, handbags.

Even the most fashion illiterate know the old rule that you only wear white between Memorial Day and Labor Day. You may not know that the dictate really was for the wealthy who left the “big city” for summer lodgings – a seaside cottage or mountain cabin to escape the heat. That summer de-campment meant it was time was a wardrobe change – the light clothes for summering (as a verb) and the return to regular clothing after Labor Day. Hence, a fashion law was born.
For big (or bigger) ticket items, the seasonal limitation poses an investment dilemma: do you splurge on a white handbag just for the summer? Well, maybe or maybe not.
But, we’re here to tell you – the rules are there are few rules and you can keep strutting that white bag come September! In fact, white bags are a veritable Fall 2018 trend.
