Louis Vuitton’s Women’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection showed in one of the Maison’s newest buildings – 103 Avenue Champs-Élysées. Originally intended as LVMH’s new Dior headquarters, last spring Louis Vuitton took over and began renovation.
For the show, the site was draped in an orange plastic, reportedly intended to mimic the interior of a hot air balloon. Hanging from the ceiling were balloon like structures and the room had an orange glow.
Not surprisingly then, orange was a standout color for handbags. Mixed among ensembles of varying patterns and layered skirting, suspenders with trousers, as well as monogram and geometric patterns, were purse pops in orange.

Sizes and shapes varied throughout. From rounded to flattened cylindrical shapes, cubes, circles, and totes – large and small. The GO-14 appeared in a geometrical pattern, and another appeared to be a vertically-elongated Alma. Also returning is the Side Trunk, with its puffed out sides.

Circles, squares, and rectangles made for attractive handheld handbag options. Beyond monogram, logos made it impossible to mistake these for anything other than Louis Vuitton.

Perhaps consistent with the hot air balloon theme was a fabric tote resembling a deflated balloon . . . or a not quite closed umbrella.

We can’t help wondering if Louis Vuitton is finding orange to be the new black (pun intended). After all, its sister brand Dior leaned heavily into black for the same Spring/Summer 2024 season.
