Introducing the new Hermès Kelly Messenger bag.

This versatile bag first caught our attention during its debut at the Hermès Men’s Fall/Winter 2023 fashion show (Read: Hermès Updates Classic Bags for Men’s Fall/Winter 2023). A subtle evolution of the iconic Kelly Danse, this sophisticated messenger bag has Hermès lovers scrambling to update their wishlists.

Building upon the timeless allure of the Kelly and coveted Kelly Danse, the Hermès Kelly Messenger bag features iconic characteristics and enlarged sangles, plaque, and touret – which add a modern appeal. The bag boasts a similar shape and silhouette to that of the Kelly Danse, however, has a more relaxed feel due to its slouchy structure.

Designed with practicality in mind, the Kelly Messenger is complete with a thicker leather and adjustable shoulder strap that can be worn crossbody. This adjustable strap not only adds a touch of modernity to the bag but also enhances its functionality, allowing for comfortable and secure crossbody wear. The widened base and body of the bag make it considerably more spacious than the Kelly Danse – making it an ideal everyday companion.

Currently, the Kelly Messenger bag is available in two sizes – 27cm, and considerably a larger variation. Despite its slouchy and relaxed aesthetic, the 27cm Kelly Messenger sits neatly crossbody and can be worn on the front or back of the body. Meanwhile, the larger size is considerably more generous – offering plenty of room to accommodate daily essentials and more. The belt-like shoulder strap can fit comfortably on the shoulder, or crossbody – making it a great choice for on-the-go city life.

So far, the Kelly Messenger has been seen in Togo and Barenia Faubourg leathers. Soft pebbled Togo remains one of the most popular among the Hermès leather offerings, and the supple grain compliments the relaxed feel, and soft structure of this casual crossbody bag. The other option, Barenia Faubourg is one of the most coveted leathers from Hermès. This rare, and high-quality calfskin leather is both buttery and rich – and compliments rich neutral tones perfectly.

You’ll find the bag available in a range of classic neutral tones, suited for everyday use, including Etoupe, Gold, and Noir. In addition to these neutrals, the Kelly Messenger can be found in the vibrant new Vert Yukka (Read: New Hermès Colors 2023), and we’re certain new colorways will soon appear…

Unfortunately, The Hermès Kelly Messenger has not yet hit the boutiques in America and Europe. However, the bag is currently available to purchase in Asia. The bag is reported to retail for NTD$ 417,100 in Taiwan, approximately $13,167 USD, and 10,500 Euro.
