The culprits, including three order pickers hired by Hermès, collaborated with three female accomplices who were customers of the brand. Exploiting online orders, the trio of order pickers ingeniously manipulated the system. Customers unsuspectingly received a surplus of items, thanks to the behind-the-scenes actions of the scheming order pickers who either added extra products or altered the contents of the packages.

The stolen products amounted to nineteen handbags and various other accessories, totaling one million euros in losses for Hermès. The order pickers strategically replaced expensive luxury items with similar-sized, less valuable counterparts.

The swift action of law enforcement led to the arrest and subsequent police custody of the six suspects. In response to the incident, Hermès has taken a decisive stance by filing a complaint against the perpetrators.

This intricate scam, still relatively unknown to the general public, serves as a stark reminder of the potential financial threats faced by businesses. The luxury industry, known for its exclusivity and high-value products, is not immune to such fraudulent activities.

As the investigation unfolds, the fashion world awaits further details on how this audacious scheme unfolded and how the industry can better safeguard itself against such sophisticated scams.
