Styles

Fendi’s Peekaboo Bag initially launched in one standard style, now referred to as ‘Iconic Peekaboo’. In 2018, Fendi reinvented the Iconic and launched a lighter version called the ‘Peekaboo X-Lite’. This was achieved by doing away with heavy leathers and zippers and sticking to calfskin and lighter fabrics instead. Additionally, eliminating the inner middle frame of the bag helped reduce the bag’s weight. As a result, the bag took on a relaxed, more casual look. The clasp also was upgraded to a modern, aerodynamic diamond cut design.

Both styles are distinctly different but equally popular.

Features

A stiff partition in the Iconic Peekaboo bag divides the bag into two sections. However, only one side of the inner partition (the side meant to face outwards), is adorned with eye-catching fabric or leather and a chunky zipper pocket. In addition to a sturdy single handle, these bags also come with an adjustable shoulder strap for cross body use. The large size, however, comes with a short shoulder strap instead of a longer adjustable one.

Inspired by the Iconic Peekaboo, the X-Lite model is a crossover between a tote and a Peekaboo. With a single twist clasp (versus the two clasps on the iconic Peekaboo), when opened also reveals an eye-catching interior, albeit with a few alterations. Absence of an inner partition inside the bag helps reduce its weight and an inner flap pocket replaces the inside zipper pocket. The medium size Peekaboo X-Lite comes with a single handle and a shoulder length strap while the large size has only a single handle.
