Community Member's Experience Shopping at Hermès in Italy

Below we share a community member’s shopping experience. Although everyone’s journey and experience with Hermès is completely individual and different, we all enjoy sharing in other’s successes. We hope you enjoy her experience.

If you would like to share your experience (successes and failures) with us, click here. Reading about other’s journey gives us hope and anticipation for what may occur in the future. We will feature it in a future Dear PurseBop newsletter.

Good afternoon, I would like to share my personal shopping experience for quota bags at Hermès. I live in Italy, nearby Rome therefore “my” boutique is the one located nearby Via Condotti, the street where the most coveted Italian and international labels are hosted.

I started my Hermès journey for quota bag 4 years ago. At that time, I was pregnant of my 3rd child and my husband decided to give me something special for that occasion. Then we visited the store and asked about the procedure to be followed in order to purchase a quota bag, I was interested in a Birkin. I was informed about the WISH procedure ( not to be misunderstood with a PRE_ORDER) and the only thing I needed to do was to submit my wish: so I gave three possible options. Six months later I received the call: my bag was there. Moreover it was my 1st option so I was super enthusiastic. My baby was born just 1 month later.

What I would like to stress is that before that purchase I had no history relationship with the boutique apart from a few items like a bracelet or a silk scarf, nor I was ” invited” to purchase other articles before being offered a bag. The true relationship started with the Birkin: I met this very fine lady who became my SA and from that moment she supported me in my purchases which became quite frequent including two Kelly bags (I discovered myself to be a Kelly girl rather a Birkin one), number of shoes, etc.

I wish my experience can be helpful for all those women who dream for those bags and wrongly think that they need to build a relationship before being entitled to get their “wish ” come true.
ciao
