For Fall-Winter 2026, Louis Vuitton reinterprets its modern-day classic Capucines bag for the second time, converting the lady-like purse into a contemporary grab-and-go style. Now a shoulder bag in an East-West form (much like the Hermès Shoulder Birkin), the new Capucines Edito retains the signature flap with LV emblem even as it removes the rigid architectural DNA of the original.

First introduced in Fall-Winter 2013, the Capucines quickly became one of Louis Vuitton’s staples. Its boxy trapezoid silhouette in Taurillon leather, accdented with a curved top handle and discreet LV initials, provided an elegant alternative to the Hermès Kelly. A decade later in 2024, the Capucines went East and West. The Capucines East West retained the prim structure, just in a horizontally-elongated form.

The new Capucines Edito goes further, keeping the horizontal orientation, but replacing the structured leather with a new construction in supple Mocha suede or smooth black calfskin. Yet, key Capucines elements remain: the signature flap offers two ways to wear the bag – tucked inside for a casual look revealing the LV emblem, or secured for a more discreet aesthetic – and four protective metal feet shield the base.

Measuring approximately 13 x 4.7 x 3.3 inches, the Edito matches the 13-inch length of the Capucines East-West but sits notably shorter in height, allowing it to tuck neatly beneath the arm. To complement these horizontal proportions, the signature curved top handle is elongated for an effortless transition between hand and shoulder carry. Unlike the rest of the Capucines family, the Edito relies entirely on this reimagined handle, forgoing a detachable shoulder strap altogether.

The Capucines Edito is currently offered in rich Mocha suede or smooth Black calfskin, with each version finished with tonal hardware and subtle gold-tone accents. Retailing at $6,900, it sits between the Capucines Mini, which retails for $6,700, and the Capucines BB, which retails for $7,350.
