Sabrina, the visionary CEO behind Luxury Promise, is set to celebrate her birthday in style on February 11 in Dubai. And what could be more fitting to mark this special occasion than the unveiling of a show-stopping Hermès bag?
As Sabrina travels to Dubai, we catch up with her to unravel the details of her dream birthday bag.
“I received my dream bag for my birthday, and the excitement is beyond words – I haven’t been able to wipe the grin off my face.
The story began a few months ago, when I ventured into Hermès, hoping against the odds for a Touch Birkin. Despite being told it’s incredibly rare, I decided to ask anyway. . . I shared my birthday wish with my husband, not sure if he was even listening. His response was a casual “Yeah, sure I’ll see what I can do”, to which I responded, “Please make the time to make sure you get the wish right!” As time passed, I almost gave up all hope, thinking it was a lost cause. However, I still put my name down at Hermès, just in case. . .
The day started on the wrong foot, with the usual chaotic morning school run. My husband surprised me by offering to take me to work in a car since we had plans to travel soon for Joanna’s wedding.
Amidst the busy morning, I forget about a closet clear out I was in the middle of, with pre-loved bags and ready-to-wear pieces ready for a new home. I always have a rule that generally when I’m buying an item, for example when one bag comes in, I need to start taking a few things out of my wardrobe that I’m no longer using. However, I spent the journey excitedly having a last-minute catch with Joanna about her wedding day and completely forgot about my belongings in the back of the car. It wasn’t until midday, during work calls, that I realized I left everything in the rental car. Panicking, I called my husband, and after a search, he thankfully tracked down the car, which was three hours away from where we originally dropped it off. I spent the whole day worrying about my bags being lost in the car, and couldn’t relax, so I was not expecting a nice surprise at the end of the day.
However, throughout the day my husband subtly messaged me about Hermès bags, including the one I had my eye on – a Birkin 25 in Togo with Matte Gator in Noir with gold hardware. This led me to question why he was asking. . . he responded that he was “just asking”, and continued to ask about some other bags. Knowing he hasn’t got much interest in luxury bags, I thought nothing more of it.”
“After work, he surprised me with the news that he had recovered my belongings from the rental car, and as I walked in the door, I noticed a big white carrier bag in the hallway with an orange box sticking out of it. . . Not only had he recovered my bags, but he also surprised me with my dream bag! I got my dream bag for my birthday that had been on my Hermès wish list for maybe three years – the Birkin 25 Touch Matte Gator. I can celebrate with a very special bag that will only grow in value as I grow in age.
So, Adam saved the day, not only by retrieving my lost items but also by scoring my dream Hermès. He turned out to be my little hero, and despite teasing him, I’m grateful for his efforts that made my birthday truly special.”
The Dubai Marathon
