Goyard Mini Anjou Review

By @boptalk

In light of my five trips to France last year, you would expect that I had fulfilled my entire shopping wishlist… and then some. To be sure, each of these voyages involved some, if not a lot, of retail activity. However, despite my best efforts, one handbag continued to elude me: the Goyard Mini Anjou.

Admittedly, on the first few attempts, I limited my request to the limited edition pink Mini Anjou. This proved to be a complete failure. Only PurseBop herself succeeded in securing this adorably cute combination. And even for her, it was an effort.

So what do you do when you find yourself in New York City virtually across the street from one of the two places in the City that carry Goyard bags? Well, of course, you make that little detour and check it out. So, that is what I did earlier this year when PurseBop and I went to visit the new Tiffany Landmark.

During the walk to Tiffany on Fifth Avenue, we dropped into Bergdorf Goodman and stopped to admire the totes in the Goyard section. A sales woman offered to help and inquired what I was seeking. I said, “ I wasn’t even going to bother asking you, but I’m looking for a Mini Anjou in Pink.”

“We don’t carry any limited edition items. Are you interested in any other colors?” she asked.

“You have a Mini Anjou?” I asked incredulously.

She shook her head. “I can contact you when one comes in.”

She took down my contact information and color request. A few days later, she called me excitedly and asked if I was interested in a Mini Saigon that had just arrived. I passed, explaining that I just wanted a Mini Anjou and didn’t want to use my Goyard quota on something I didn’t absolutely love.

I assumed the sales lady had ghosted me after I passed on the Mini Saigon. However, several months later, she texted me out of the blue to let me know a white Mini Anjou had arrived in the store. I quickly called her with my payment information. The bag arrived at my home two days later. I was elated to finally have this mini (even though it’s not powder pink) and it’s been in my bag rotation since it arrived.

Now that it’s finally here, let’s talk sizing, pricing, available colors, and what can fit inside.

Sizing

Measuring at 8″ × 8″ × 4″, with a handle drop of 6.6”, this compact, water-resistant bag offers just enough space for your daily essentials without being bulky or cumbersome. It’s ideal for casual outings and running errands in any season.

And I have a horrible confession to make. I accidentally left a leaking water bottle inside the Anjou overnight. Although water pooled inside the bag, it did not leak. It is truly water-resistant! No damage inside either; the interior easily wiped clean, good as new.

Yes, those are Pokemon cards floating in a pool of water.

Pricing

Here are the prices that you can expect to pay in 2023 for a Goyard Mini Anjou.

ToteDimensions (W X H X D in)Price (USD)Price (GBP)Price (EUR)
Anjou Mini8" x 8" x 4"$2,590£1,745€1,950

When it comes to colors, Goyard is known for its signature monogram pattern in multiple hues. The Mini Anjou is available in a range of shades to suit your own style, including white, sky blue, navy blue, green, yellow, orange, red, burgundy, gray, tan, and black. Goyard used to charge more for “special colors” which were anything other than black or brown. Today, only limited edition colors, like Power Pink, Metallic, Khaki, and Jet Black, are priced higher than other colors.

You can also opt to get your Anjou personalized with your initials. However, your bag must be purchased from the boutique. Expect long wait times if you are getting it done outside of Paris.

What Fits Inside

In terms of functionality, the Goyard Mini Anjou surprises with its ability to hold more than meets the eye. Despite its compact size, it can carry essentials such as a phone, wallet, keys, cosmetics,  a compact umbrella, sunglasses case… and perhaps a leaky water bottle.

It is reversible and includes a removable pouch attached to the handle for quick and easy access to keys or cards.

Overall, if you’re looking for an elegant yet practical handbag option for everyday use – the Goyard Mini Anjou checks all the boxes. This mini bag packs a maxi punch!

Are you craving one right now but don’t have the patience to wait? Here are some excellent options available to satisfy that immediate urge (we get it, lol).
